oh, hipsters
Jul. 17th, 2008 02:06 pmmy internet is rather limited at this time, so i apologize in advance for any slowness i may have in responding.
but i want to know:
whose fault is it when you wear aso-called ironic but really racistSIXTY NINE dollar tee shirt that says "obama is my slave" and then get your ass beat ridiculed, pushed, and spit upon?
?
the designer's, of course.
is it just me or is anyone else afraid that this is too reminiscent of the the new jersey four?
original source comments have much fail.

Date: 2008-07-18 12:04 am (UTC)It's reminiscent of the NJ4, but with serious differences: she's suing the designer, not the young women who attacked her. I'm all for attacking hipsters who wear racist clothing (the Urban Outfitter's shirt that reads "New Mexico: cleaner than Old Mexico" comes to mind), but I'm afraid that the same level of assholery that prompts the wearing of such a shirt often coincides with the level of assholery for such lawsuits. At least it seems she now understands that the shirt is racist, and thus is not suing the people who beat that lesson into her privileged white head. The designer appears to be a flaming racist, or worse... he's Israeli, and hates Obama on the basis that Obama is Muslim. ::sigh:: I stopped having things to say, my mind is so full of utter fail.
I'd say send him back to Israel, but they probably kicked him out for harassing Palestinians into attacking Israel. He seems to be good with the race baiting. :/

Date: 2008-07-19 03:05 pm (UTC)i had misremembered the nj4 situation a little. i had thought they weren't charged until later. i can still see the asshat woman trying to go after the teens when no lawyer can win her case against the designer.
i doubt he got kicked out of israel. he needs an assbeating himself on so many levels, though.
