During one of my classmate's final presentations for Media, Self-Identity, and Society, they brought up how media coverage might gloss over other stories. Everyone in the class has heard of Ferguson, but almost no one had heard of Iguala, Mexico and the disappearing students. So I like the fact that you'll link to other articles of less than pleasant consequences for black men meet police stories than the major ones. Covering the other cases I wouldn't hear about except when doing a LJ catch-up on your feed.

If I had more time, I'd probably try to guide any enraged students to a list of more obscure cases and try to get that rage into volunteering.

When it comes to marches and stuff, I tend to slide into, but that only gets attention and control for a short time, mindset and I never seem to be around when they happen anyway. Something continuing is more my style.
