i scared away the straights.
or they got lost.
or just couldn't be found.
(there were conflicting reports as to the route)
or there is no pride in straight-ville.
or it was just a publicity stunt for them so there was no reason to run away.
you know, one, some, or none of the above.

anyway, while reports have since indicated that the record label had, indeed, applied for a permit,(i finally found someone who had even heard of this so-called march) the prideful still could not be found.
and of this writing, there are no recent posts on news.google.

on a more serious note-
gustav is on a path for new orleans.
rather than list a few places to send your monies to, i'm just going to stick with INCITE! since i trust them to not be jackasses on a number of levels.
if they're not your cup of tea, just DON'T GIVE TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS.

Meh. It was also, well, mostly, that Zach's block is where everyone lines up for both the Sunday evening thing and the parade. We decided we aren't that big of fans of noise. Plus laundry is relatively free up in these parts (these parts being my parents' basement) and thats always a bonus. Parades are great when you can go to them and then leave, but aren't so great when they're in front of your house and your windows aren't exactly up to speed in terms of the noise blocking.
At the moment, we haven't quite figured out how exactly we're going to get back to Zach's place, as the three closest subway stops are all insane, or closed. At least one is guarenteed to be closed, but according to Zach, last year Franklin also got closed at some point in addition to Eastern Parkway. Grand Army isn't too far of a walk, I guess, but we have all that laundry...
