i am being coerced into getting my own stupid domain name.
i need to get something to go before the dot and the com.

so far, from what is available, i have been toying with uberliberal.
everything else good that i can think of is already taken.

i'm theorizing this might actually help me to pay more attention to the dang thing.

any ideas?

I've been having crazy trouble with this very thing. Mine is going to be a little more general-purpose - activist resource compendium, but still hot enough that my friends will all want to be jonsfriend@awesomedomainname.net.

If riseup.net wasn't taken, that would be mine.

resistance.org is taken, and I don't want to be TOO scary, so I didn't check on I'llburnmyfuckingdraftcardifiwanttomotherfucker.com and similar.

Amazingly enough, two of my potential domain names are being used by Christian evangelicals - I was enamored of the Orwell quote, "In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." Unfortunately, tellingthetruth.org seems to be the property of some hard-assed religionists with an axe to grind against people who don't love Jesus. Even though, as you so correctly point out, Jesus loves us.

Anyway, I'll keep you in mind for any domain names I can't use - I'm AWFULLY picky. I don't want to have to spell it out and it should be easy to understand over a cellphone. Needless to say, I've been trying to do this for about four weeks now.
