( A Pentagon effort to persuade Congress to allow military intelligence agents to work undercover in the United States met with resistance in the House Wednesday when the provision was left out of the highly secretive intelligence funding bill. )

now, it's not like i don't already think such practices don't already exist. (can we say con-spir-a-cy theorist?)
but this would simply make it official, i.e. more funding. and even more access. and the information would fully be usable against all parties.
the whole matrix thing. (no, not the movie, damnit, the Multistate Anti-Terrorism Information eXchange) is scary as hell and i'm trying to figure out what to make of ct, mi,oh,pa, and fl all staying signed up while wi and ny (among others,,,,, i was surprised to see the drunkern 'sconnies signing up, actually.) back out.
bahhhh.
