so, this is my last night in cleveland. by this time wednesday, i should be back in brooklyn. it snowed. so my visit was not in vain.

i went to the historical society/history museum. it turns out that part of it is being worked over for some diana exhibit. and the american red cross, my good friends, were taking over a good chunk for taking people's blood.

to say that i tried to give blood would be stretching the truth. really, i just wanted to play and find out if i could still donate blood if i DIDN't KNOW if my male partner/s of the last 12 months, had at any point had had man sex. (never mind any of their other restrictions applicable to either male or female...*)
also, i wanted to get a red cross fleece scarf, if they did accept my "dur, i dunnnooo" ....

but. but. i'm a fool and left my hoodie on indoors too long (i'm severely sensitive to these things. my college medical records on test/paper due date can attest to this...) which upped my temp to 99.8 aka fever aka not donation worthy.
i thought about going for a walk outside to drop my temp (again, trust me, it works. i learned that when they came to take my blood in high school.) but i decided 'twas not to be. and mosied onto another museum.

the natural history museum, with a replica of Sue T. Rex, was too much for a few hours and, anyway, the woman at the desk was snotty.

so i went to the botanical gardens. usually, gardens = allergies!, but i figured i'd walk around the snow covered paths and enjoy myself. only, contrary to the ticket seller's words, the majority of outdoor paths were not available to the public.
i did get to see the indoor madagasscar and costa rica exhibits.

sushi for dinner.
i asked if they had lychee martinis.
the guy asked if i ment ly-chay.
i said, sure, whatever.
he said, as in "dulce de leche?"
i said, um, nevermind. that's ok.

now, if you don't know what a lychee martini is, that's ok. because you aren't part of a sushi restaurant. so i'm just saying. i'm spoiled.

cookies from the jewish deli for desert.

tomorrow.... i don't know. i don't leave until the pm. there's still the natural history museum and then i have to go somewhere after... i may just wander the downtown.

If you are desperate for ideas for things to do, you could always pick up a Free Times, see if anything in there catches your eye.

thanks

i had picked up a free paper and may grab another tomorrow.

part of my problem is i don't drive and my brother and his wife are both kinda too new at their jobs to take time off at this time (and they're planning on taking mad time off in a few months to go to europe).

Whats funny is that he didn't even pronounce leche correctly. Hello, people, it's "leh-chey" not "ly-chay". dol-chey (or dol-say, or dol-thay, depending) deh leh-chey.

Speaking of which I had Mexican with my mom a couple nights ago and for dessert I had fried plantains with dulce de leche and vanilla ice cream. OMG YUMMIES.

Anywho.
