for the record, i was going to cross-post that whole planned parenthood on the pine ridge reservation meme that seems so popular. but i have less faith in planned parenthood than i do in ms. fire thunder.

so i called planned parenthood national. who plead ignorance.

and i called mn/sd/nd planned parenthood. and while their rep. is in south dakota as i type, she also was fully unaware of ms fire thunder's statments.

which doesn't mean there won't be an abortion clinic on the reservation. but that you shouldn't expect planned parenthood to get immediately involved.

just saying.

Don't forget that *our* (ie: people who live neither in South Dakota nor on the Pine Ridge Reservation) attention span will not be long enough to help maintain a clinic for the long haul.

That reservation is (or at least was until recently) one of the absolute poorest areas of the nation. They could definitely use financial help whether Planned Parenthood shows up or not.
