i went to toys in babeland... i blame moby for moving in next door and hip-ifying up the place with his teany. i'm not liking the new scene of the store.

i'm just saying,,,, where's the grit of the neighborhood? what's with the +/-? if the name change is due to their not being just toys, why the hell did the book section shrink? and since when did the staff of 'babeland' become so damn snotty?
inquiring minds want to know, damnit.

also, "toy" stores really shouldn't advertise toys online that they're not going to have stocked yet in stores. it's just cruel.

They just don't work. We order like 3 at a time hoping at least 1 will work.

Icon love. I dressed up as one of those for a Pride Parade a few years back (while riding in the parade for the first and probably last time on the back of a motorcycle).

Clearly we are psychically linked -- I had reason to deal with the people at Good Vibrations today. They're occasionally a bit hipper-than-thou, but so far my interactions with them have been good.

up until now, my interactions with their staff has been at least decent. but she was being snotty. plain and simple.

the book section in the SoHo location has also shrunk.. which annoyed me when i went to get a certain coloring book they no longer carried... they were also "sold out" of a few things that the online store had, which also annoyed me.

I wonder how the one in seattle is doing.

We've had the same problem. And they try to sell you stuff above what you can afford. It's like, no I don't actually need one of those, just this... But they have stuff online that they don't mention is on back-order until you get the email confirming your order, and you're like, but I want the rest of my stuff now and not three weeks when that other item that was kinda a splurge item anyway comes in! I mean, isn't the whole point of ordering from them online that the selection is bigger and more constant?
::sigh:: What you have to go thru for a toy shop that isn't sleazy...

i was happy they mostly left me alone when i glared at the rudeness. i reserve such looks for rare ocasions. i briefly regretted not having anyone immediately available to help with looking at glass, but then decided it's probably not in the budget, anyways.

i have no answers for you regarding onlineness. other than they are not the store they used to be.
