a rare moment of optimism

i've known for longer than one probably should that the world is full of people who will fuck you over and then walk away without any guilt.

this, i suppose, is just a fact of life.

a fact i probably prioritize more than i "should".

stating that is by no means a recant of my mantra that people do, in fact, suck (and not in a positive sort of way).

i think what i'm trying to say is that if you let them, people can positively surprise you. . . and that quality should, to some extent, be worth far more than all the quantity of shit that others, and sometimes even they themselves, might pull against you.

or that you pull against yourself.

give me another 24-hours and i'll return to my bitter, sullen self. live it up while you still can.

Several of my friends use the word "people" as an adjective for things that suck. "That movie was people." When one of my friends vents about the world, I often sympathize with the words, "People are people."
