rather than actually clean the rest of my house as originally scheduled, i have spent the morning updating the information for the u.s. house of representatives.

feel free to bookmark and share with the world.

yes, the flags are actually my touch. until i figure out something better to put there, anyway. (suggestions are appreciated.) turning the flag upside down is too cliche, i've decided.

House-cleaning sucks. It sucks more when someone was going to come over, you spent time getting your home readier than usual, and he cancels.

I'm trying to come up with a good descriptor of my home. What do you think of "respectable rot"? "Respectable dust"?

And upside-down flags are not cliche!

ugh. i agree. that does suck much. i thought i had another week to get this shit done so i should be rushing....
goddamn lj breaks....

i prefer respectable rot. it's that alliteration thing.

an upside down flag might be conceived as cliche coming from me. i may still go back and flip them if i don't come up with a better solution.

I got a giant used pacifist US flag, ie: with the peace sign rather than stars, and am putting it up upside down in my front room. I love its ambiguity. (Is this a sign of disrespect? Is it a sign of distress, a la scouting rules? Am I saying something about the US? About pacifists? About US pacifists? About pacifism? No one knows.)
