It seems that Capitol Records has some sort of new copy protection system, that automatically, silently, installs “helpful” copy protection software on MacOS and Windows as soon as you insert the CD into default systems. I’m not sure exactly what it does yet, but I am sure regreting actually purchasing said media now… they don’t deserve my money if they choose to pull stupid stunts like this. Installing software without your permission sounds like viral malware behaviour to me. I certainly hope the AV companies put signatures into their products for this crap.

i expect this shit from, say, i don't know.... metallica. i do not even comprehend it from these boys. and do not even try defending them and blaming capitol. beastie boys aren't some snotty faced garage band just trying to make it big. they could have pulled an (artist formerly knows as the artist formerly known as) prince. grrr.

whether or not you agree with "stealing" music, that's not the point.....(well, ok, it's not the only point.) do you really want to end up with anything on your computer you didn't ask for? especially when that something can very well be harmful to your music-listening device?

(i know this phenoment isn't new. it's just i'm bothered by who's doing it...)

i had heard that bit about it being done to all emi albums, but other artists have left their labels and found loopholes over more trivial matters.
