I can't read LJ and listen to a podcast at the same time.

When it comes to speech only audio, I can listen to a stand-up routine if I'm not doing anything with words. Other speech only audio, I have a hard time concentrating on it to the point that I'll only catch some of it with effort and I'm not doing anything else. Earlier this semester was when I decided to try to listen to an episode of Night Vale while doing my art in class despite being doubtful that I'd catch anything. Finally learned that I need a non-verbal task like art with listening speech-only audio. Doesn't matter what I do or don't do. I only catch bits and pieces of lyrics in songs and have to first go on bits and pieces and the other aspects of music to like it. At least it means I don't get upset that I don't understand the lyrics in other languages. It's not like I'd fully catch them the first several times in clearly sung English.

But I'm not going to dump the LJ catch-up and cleaning my e-mail of event announcements for podcasts. So I'll rely on whatever makes it to your aggregated tweets. (And even if I caught up on those 2 things, I'd be finally touching facebook. Assuming no offline commitments.)
