rkteven if somebody pays you, do NOT go see bad santa.
i feel so bad that this had to be john ritter's last movie. just when you think it cannot get any worse, it does. more swearing than actual dialogue. and i fucking love to splatter my speech with vulgarity, goddamnit. so this is saying a lot.
i guess it's not so much the amount of it, as that it really didn't have a point. i don't have a problem with tarnantino or south park. but there, the shit is part of the dialogue.
maybe it's because i lack that oh, so precious y-chromosome that i simply cannot find any appreciation for this movie. i don't know. but i saw it for free, having nothing but the lowest expectations, and was still utterly disappointed and wanting my time back.
it's not just the swearing thing. it's the making fun of fat women jokes. (coupled with the implication that the mother from gilmore girls is fat.) the overall depiction of women and minorities. (this isn't just me being crazy feminazi here. there were exactly THREE women in the entire movie. 1). the senile grandmother 2). the brassy (stereotypically ethnic) girl friend of the dwarf and 3). the gilmore girls chick. this is only the beginning.)
the only part of the movie that i found funny involved bernie mac receiving a pedicure (from an asian woman, of course, because the movie just could not help itself).
