My vet said Neuticles are not ethical. Is that true?

We feel the removal of a God given body part - leaving a male pet looking unwhole after the traditional form of neutering is not only unethical but unnatural. With Neuticles it's like nothing ever changed.

About 30 days after neutering the testostrone in the pets system is gone. The pet normally becomes calmer. less aggressive quits

My vet said my dog wont know that he's missing anything. Is that true?

People know their beloved pet. Their pet can tell them when they are hungry, want to play, don't feel well, hide when approaching the vet's office or will get excited when driving by or going to the park- why wouldn't the pet know a familiar body part is missing? Would he know if his foot was cut off? Of course he would- its only common sense.

Can Neuticles be implanted in people?

Absolutely not. While the material used for Neuticles is FDA approved, a second FDA approval is required by law for each area of the human body an implant is placed. No company, including Neuticles, has FDA approval for solid silicone or polypropylene testicular implants. Neuticles are perfectly safe for pets but cannot be used on people.

A friend of mine got his cat a vasectomy instead of getting him neutered. So, the cat can't go out and impregnate anybody, but hormonally he's intact.

Why not a Vasectomy?

This expensive procedure simply sterilizes the pet. The pet still retains all aggressive behavior and characteristics of a non-neutered animal. For this reason- a Vasectomy is rarely performed on pets.

Yup...that's exactly why my friend DID choose to vasectomize instead of neuter. He felt unethical about trying to change the cat's natural instinctive behaviors by altering him surgically. The vasectomy is "minimally invasive"...it takes care of the risk of procreation without changing anything about the cat that doesn't really need to be altered.

Yeah, vasectomies don't really take care of the main reason why people get their pets neutered: behavior. The dog will still go out and try to mate with female dogs in heat, and believe it or not, male dogs can become permanently "damaged" by the mating experience, if say, they're pulled apart by unknowing humans. Plus the male dogs will still mark and be aggressive, etc. Plus dogs have really high risks of reproductive cancers if left intact - bitches get mammary and ovarian tumors, while males get testicular cancer. Wolves just don't live as long as domesticated dogs, so the unnaturally long life-spans of the pet dog come with maladies that weren't naturally selected out of wolves.

With a cat, its slightly different, because if it's an outdoor cat competing with male strays, then the horomones, marking, and aggressiveness are needed assets, but the vasectomy would reduce his impact on the local feral community.

I personally don't need a set of testicles around my neck to feel confident or aggressive. I've got a mean set of ovaries in my lower torso, and they never itch or swing or have to be shaven, though they do hurt periodically. Damn you, mitteschmertz!

Anyway, I like how the woman at the Badger Herald concludes that women AND men are better off without testicles. Were all the testicles in the world to suddenly disappear, the scientific drive towards parthenogensis would pick up...
