i may or may not have just picked up my last nuva ring (for next month, i'm a month ahead).

i'm mixed, regardless, if i want to renew the prescription once it does run out.

it still puts me halfway to a migraine. which means i still have to be extra careful regarding the rest of my triggers if i want to keep my head out of hell.

so not cool.

also, if i can survive without bleeding out half my weight every month (really, this is how it feels), then i might as well go ahead and get my tubes cut.

my biggest fear, though, is having an "accident" once/if i stop and get all spotty on my clothes. pre-ring, i've spotted out onto my clothes by noon, after having a tampon AND pad at 8am.

even less cool.

I had the Ring for a while. It didn't cause any problems outside of increasingly more frequent UTI's, but I decided I could do without hormones, so I got an IUD.

i had thought about that.
but a) the insurance is more likely to cover the hormone based than the magical copper based. my body hates HBC chemicals the way it is. hates. migraines are a dream compared to what i've been through.
b) IUDs are discouraged for those not in monogomous relationships as it can cause irritations that increase susceptibility to STIs.

a) My insurance covered the Copper T. Also the Minera has very low hormone levels which might be lower than the Ring, not sure. But the good thing about Minera, which I've heard from others, is that it almost eliminates your period.

b) That happens, but, if you tell them you always use protection, someone out there might let you have it.

The insertion really hurts, and it causes some increased cramping for a couple of months, but I have a history of high blood pressure so I try to avoid the hormones. And it's definitely easier than any other birth control I've used.
