Thank you for your lovely weather-compromise. Today's temperatures remained pleasant. (when I looked up at the bank temperature screen, the 77 made me happy!) I am much happier that you doled out nice temperatures and sun than cloudy (+humidity) and HOT.

Although I spent the bulk of brooklyn's mermaid parade* on the back of a (dying) boat of a car, I'm tired. I do appreciate your humour, though, in causing said "shipwrecked"-themed car to leak out water. That was a nice touch.

Fun times were sure to have been had by all. Or at least most.

* Ok, So what's the deal? Is this the last year of the mermaid parade (as we know it), or not? Yeah, it'll be around for awhile. Buy a disneyfied mermaid parade is not THE mermaid parade. Nekkid 48 mermaids bouncing along behind 8 year old mermaids who are bouncing along behind 28 year old transmermaids who intermingling with all sorts of merfolk (and non merfolk) just doesn't seem to mesh with the sanitized version that's inevitable.

But i'm a notorious nay-sayer.
As long as i'm naysaying, can i just remind you that dualing against the dykes gives me angst. My Known abilitie force me to only be in one place at a time. This means I absolutely canNOT be in the space of the mermaid parade AND the dyke march at the same time.

I heard that no, it's not the last year of the mermaid parade. With a turnout like that? No, it's too popular. People come, people spend $$ and that's the bottom line. I can't imagine a Disneyfied Coney...they can't change it *too* much, can they?

if they promise to make the parade g-rated, they'll still have people by the boatloads, but the spirit just won't be the same.

I don't think they could make the parade g-rated. Look at the Halloween parade, I've seen stuff there that made me blush and you know I'm not a prude. People will find a way. We better.
