i went into the world on sunday. sun.day. the sun is NOT my friend. summer is NOT my friend. i know this. yet, i went out, anyway. my lack of an air conditioner is the main reason i pull myself out of bed during the week so i can go to work. really. so why'd i'd pull myself into the world just to walk around in the blistering sun, is just, uh, yeah.

anyway, sun.day, i saw two drifters which, i think the final consensus was that it was better than watching explosions. . . .which is saying something, but not much.

we also went to westside brewery, which, in addition to having yummy pear cider, has yummy mussels in red sauce. apparently, it's just sub-par marinara sauce in which the mussels are stewed, but damn, the shits is good. while outdoor seating is available, we et inside.

before all that we went to the asian pub (the place's name) for brunch. lycheetini and crab cake and salad and garlic bread and eggs (my way=over easy) for $10. again, we w(h)ined and dined inside.

even if the sun didn't burn and scar me, it drains the fuck out of me. literally and figuratively. which is bad, because i love walking and meandering. but on saturday when i had to go to my part time work? i hopped the bus for the less than a mile hike.

i had something else to say here at one point, i still have a commentary on the trip to atlantic city the other weekend (hours before the place shut down). but, yeah. i blame the sun.

for the record, it was "only" around 86F/30C, but it was 303.15K! OMGz 303+DEGREES!11!

p.s. also, i blame the air since a lot of the drainingness comes from the air, which is too hot, thanks to the sun, but mostly i just prefer to blame the sun.

where is this asian pub you speak of and how would you rate the lycheetini?

it's either 34 or 35 cooper. across from the village voice. . . the r/w to 8th st. or the 6 to astor place.

their lycheetini is probably average to slightly above average. lycheetinis in general are my friend. they are, however, $2 more after midnight. and less of a bargain than they'd otherwise be.

i'm definitely a fan of them.

lycheetinis generally come with a lychee or two.

i'd say they have the consistency of a harder peeled grape, but that doesn't sound very good. so i'll say "try it, you'll like it!" :)
