The only time I was mistaken for a Democrat was when the county executive was running for reelection my sophomore year in college. But it was a good thing in that he sent me (and presumably, most other people ages 18-25 who voted via absentee ballot in 2000) a blank absentee ballot. And he sent it to my college address. I forgot to request one before I left for school. And I voted for him, but not on the Dem line, on the Working Families line (I don't mind voting for Dems when they pick up third party nominations because it counts towards that party staying on the ballot). But I was also able to vote for my theory prof, Stan Aronowitz, on the Green line, for govenor, when Cuomo and McCall so split the Dem vote that Pataki managed to sneak a third gubenatorial term in there. Dammit, liberals, sometimes its better to get rid of the Republican than determine who is more liberal, the nepotic son of the former govenor, or the former comptroller for New York City, a position that has historically been one of the most corrupt positions in this country? Soon I'll be joining you as not a Democrat in the Brooklyn area :)
